So another attack on us Brits time I think to drop our usual steady on old chap demeanour and do something extraordinarily unbritish. We know who a lot of the radical extremists are, so could I suggest that we secretly without a fuss take each one and drop them a few miles out at sea. No fuss, no martyrdom just "Hey whatever happened to Jermahl I've not seen him in ages? " Or is that idea a bit over the top. What do you guys think?

I don't have the answer, but one thing for sure the way it's being handled is not working. We out number them so why can't we come up with an answer to the problem. Maybe you are right and we should go after them and put a stop to all this.

If "we" know who a lot of the radical extremists are, why weren't they able to stop this and detect their planning of this? Britain already does a significant amount of surveillance of known radical extremists. What you seem to be proposing is mass murder of a bunch of innocents, in order to administer collective punishment against the wider Muslim community in Britain in retaliation for the actions of a minuscule percentage of said community. While committing such an atrocity may serve the purpose of satisfying some kind of sick emotional gratification for you and others of your ilk, to believe that there won't be some severe blowback from such an immoral and indefensible act that will severely harm your country in the long run, is to be more short-sighted than a blind bat.

Or we put them in gas chambers, then bury them in big holes in the ground.

There is no easy, bumper sticker solution like drop 'em in the ocean. Simplistic approaches like that only creates terrorists faster than we can kill them. If approaches like that worked, we would have killed them all by now. We have been doing this for decades and look where we are.

In broad strokes, we need to address the causes, not the symptoms. Certainly law enforcement and military response have a role to play, but they should not be the only tools in the tool box.

But extra-judicial killings, as you advocate, only makes matters worse. The root causes are far too complex to attempt to discuss in a brain-fart forum like this. If you would care for a serious change on the topic, pm me. I don't care to get into it in the Attic, where juvenile insults are the lingua franca.

I don't particularly want to go down this route but I can't see the way we have been treating the problem as an answer and respectfully where you live is not exactly the front line. What I suggest is not a jingoistic "look at what we are doing to you", but a secret clandestine operation. Even if it means not throwing them in the sea which I admit is over the top maybe a Guantanamo bay type solution such as you guys have done but much more secret.

"Guantanamo bay type solution"? You mean torture? You believe that was a good idea?

I'm not sure that it is possible to insult "The Attic," better known as "The Sewer."

Not torture just pulling the source of radicalism out of the scenario. If the radical preachers are removed from the impressionable young and their hate is removed it could, and I repeat could do more good than taking a softly softly approach. Which we have tried and forgive me you seem to like but once again I repeat is very easy to condone when as youself you are not in the front line
