Yes, I have the 24-120 f4, it is a kit lens that came with camera. It's my walk around lens - so yes I like it. However, if I didn't have it I would probably have a 28-300 - so much more focal distance. Why are you thinking of trading it in?

FYI, if you decide that you want the D750 new and not refurbished try Greentoe.com. It's a site where you put in a price that you are willing to pay (below retail) and they try to match you up with an authorized US dealer. Got my D750 through them at $100 off retail, free shipping and not sales tax. Actually, came from US dealer in Maine - not grey market, U.S. warranty and able to register with Nikon. They also have a 30 day return policy. Also, bought my Tamron 150-600mm through them and got it for $100 less than retail.

I bought my D750 new at Hunt's Photo in Manchester, NH because I saved $144 in sales tax since NH does not have a sales tax. And it's only 35 miles from my house. So it was worth it. But I paid top dollar back in March of 2015. Instead of the 24-120 I opted to buy the 28-300 only based on what Ken Rockwell wrote when he compared both lenses side-by-side. I do like the 28-300 but I rarely shoot over 120mm and I felt that I would get a slightly better image with the 24-120 because it is an "N" lens. I am in my mid 70s with arthritic hands and the 24-120 would be slightly lighter by 3 ounces (I think). For my purposes it would be a better "walk-around" lens than the 28-300. Then again the refurb 24-120 from Nikon is now priced at $800 and I could keep the 28-300 and still get the 24-120 which is probably what I will do. At least I am now leaning in that direction. About a month ago I was thinking of getting the 24-70 VR but that is a real beast and it is priced at $2,300. A lot of $$ for only 24-70mm. And this lens weighs 10 ounces more than the 28-300. Thanks for the info on Greentoe.com. ~FiddleMaker

I have a 7100 but recently purchased a refurbished 750 with a 24-120 lens from Nikon.
Enjoying it very much. Excellent with low light high ISO situations.

I have both and both are actively used. What I like about these bodies is that the controls are very similar and they use the same battery. Most of my lenses are FX so they are functional on both bodies. Thus the 7100 is a great back up for the 750 but then with the crop factor adds a little effective distance when needed.

I think it's talking tools. That's what old guys and interested women talk about. We're always looking for a different angle or perspective or trick. But mostly we have similar tools but want to be sure we're optimizing them.

I have both and love both for different reasons. I bought the 7100 first and it came with a DX kit lens 18 - 200. I then built an arsenal of lenses but bought FX all the way as I knew that I would one day want to add a full frame. When the 750 came along, I jumped on it! And I love it. It is great in low light and, unlike the 7100, the buffer doesn't fill up often for the way I shoot, which was a bummer with the 7100. It also has the pull-out screen for high and low shots. That said, I just took my 7100 with the kit lens to my son's college graduation as a one body - one lens combo and especially for the extra apparent reach of the crop frame. I got some really great shots.

The good news is you can't go wrong either way. If you have a bunch of DX lenses, I'd echo the prior recommendations of looking at the D500 or waiting for the 7500 rumored to be soon to market. If you can afford to build an FX lens collection, go for the 750! It's a great little package with a lot of power.

Hope this helps!

If you're never going to print anything and just keep the photos on the computer or post them online, a cellphone or bridge camera should be sufficient. If you want to do any kind of printing, compare the size of the sensors and you'll see what the real difference is. I don't think UHH was started for this kind of photographer, however.

Agreed! But as you purchase glass, stay with FX as much as possible. I think it's better quality, and you will be ready for an eventual upgrade to a FF camera.

You guys are getting me tempted to go buy the D750 or even the D810. Good discussion. I'll just live with my D500 and my wife's Sony a6000. LOL

So what kind of photographer do you think UHH was started for ? Just curious.

An EXCELLENT question, perhaps for a new topic.

Can't any one hear read , she , he , asked ( should I upgrade my d7100 nikon ) so far you have given the poster every question that poster
Did not ask when all it would take is a simple. Yes or no , he ,she already knows what the out come will be, but it's a question ,
If every one replied with the. Yes or No answer , the out come would have been simple , the yes and no would be counted .and the out come for going one way would chosen, more yessas or more no essential, and we have a winner , I said yes . But I just as easy could have said no as the d7100 is all the camera that any one really needs , but I'm going for the D7200 for myself , the price of any thing that's better
Is way overpriced ,
