GREETINGS FROM US EMBASSY

Attention Please!!

I am Ambassador JAMES WILLIAM from United States i joined the State Department in 1988. I am a career member of the Senior Foreign Service with the rank of Minister Counselor. Prior to becoming the U.S. Ambassador to Benin, I was the Executive Director of the Bureau of African Affairs from August 2013, following two years as the Deputy Executive Director. I spent most of my career in Africa, including as management officer in Harare, Windhoek, Conakry, and Djibouti, and as General
Services Officer in Brazzaville.

I would like to inform you that your funds issue was brought to my office this morning because the director of the United Bank For Africa (U.B.A) here in Benin Republic said that they have uploaded your inheritance fund worth ($10,800,000,00) into a new Visa Card but since then they have not heard from you, so the case was brought to my office in a view to Cancel your fund and divert it into government treasuries account, because of your sudden silence to comply with delivery terms and conditions. Then, I asked what are the conditions but i was told that you are been required to pay the delivery charges cost $220 but i told him to wait because there is no need to cancel the payment that i will do my very possible best to bring the issue to conclusion since it has been brought to my office. To the best of my knowledge, i found out that this fund is legitimate and i advise you should send the delivery charges cost $220 to ship your Visa Card that contains your inheritance fund that worth ten Million Eight Hundred Thousand United States Dollars only ($10,800,000.00) I guarantee that this fund will be delivered under a legitimate arrangement that will protect you from any breach of the law. I will be here guiding you on the inheritance matter as well as backing you up with all the necessary information that may be required.
What could be your reason of refusal and chosen to abandon such huge amount of money? I want your urgent reconfirmation of your delivery information to me such as your full name, address and telephone number as soon as you receive this email. Because this is last opportunity you have to receive your inheritance fund so do not fail to notice this wonderful moment to have your fund that you have been looking for way to making it reality. I will be waiting to hear from you to resolve the issue as quickly as possible for you to receive your overdue payment.

The problem with this kind of stuff, even though it has been all over the news, is that some people (mostly senior citizens on limited income) fall for it, and it is next to impossible to catch them.

Chase, write back to James and let him know that I'll take care of the fee. He knows I'm good for it. Tell him your friend (me) be traveling to Africa at the end of next month and will meet him at the usual pub in Harare. He should just mail you the card. If he prefers, I'll pick up the card in person then bring it to you.

In case he doesn't remember me, tell him we used to hang out at a pub quite often.

The pub is The Mill Restaurant and Pub, but don't mention the name of the pub in your letter. He should know. It's located off Wellburn Dr. between Tyward and Robarts. Again, that's for your information and shouldn't be mentioned in your letter to him.

He should know I'm good for the money.

Now when you get the funds, throw me a bone, OK?

I'm right on this one Bob, and when I get the money, I'll fly over to Harare in my new Learjet and have a couple of cold ones with you and then fly you back to Tempe in style. Thanks for you help with this very important matter. Cheers, chase

Cool, Chase. Just so you make sure you know where the place is. The airport is south and to the other side of town from The Mill.

It's hardly new. This and very many similar ones have been doing the rounds for years now.

This is another very familiar one:

Dear Beloved in the Lord,

May the Blessings of God be upon you and give you the grace to read this email. Please do kindly read the below email in detail and get back to me to the glory of God. My name is Mrs Elizabeth Anna Johnson from Germany, a widow to late Dr. A. Johnson . l am 59 years old and a born again Christian, Am suffering from long time cancer of the breast, from all indication my condition is really deteriorating and it is quite obvious that I might not live more than two (2) months, according to my doctor because the cancer has gotten to a very worst / dangerous stage.

It is my humble wish to donate the sum of USD$5,600,000:00 which l inherited from my late husband to you and your family for the use of humanity. l want you to invest the funds into any lucrative business venture and use the profit annually to assist the less privileged in the world and also to donate to the orphanage yearly.

Upon your positive response, I will forward to you all the information's you will use to get this fund released from the bank and to be transferred to your bank account. I honestly pray that this money when transferred to you will be used for the said purpose because l has come to find out that wealth acquisition without Christ is vanity. May the grace of our lord Jesus the love of God and the fellowship of God be with you and your family.

Remain blessed and waiting to hear from you at my email address ( jelizabethannna@gazeta.pl )

Thanks.

Yours sister in much pain.

Elizabeth Anna Johnson

Never been there but I Googled it. Apparently it's a pretty stable place in West Africa that used to be known as Dahomey. It's GDP is approx $8.93 billion so it looks like they may not be able to make good on the whole $10.8 bill. But for $220 still a good deal.

It's not only E-mails. I get phone calls too. Whenever I get a call from a number I don't recognize, I say "it's done, but there's blood everywhere". They never call back!

Gmail never lets that crap get through. They have the best spam filter. With caller ID if I don't recognize the number I don't pick up. Makes life so much simpler.
