For one, Hillary would have aligned with Putin and Russia, and would not have sent a big scare into Syria. She made a big public showing as Secretary of State by pushing a symbolic "reset button" with the Russian Ambassador to show that we are in a new era of cooperation with the Russkies. This, on top of her okaying a deal with a uranium mining company that put 20% of U.S. uranium deposits in Russian control.

To add to this, one of Obama's re-election issues was that he was a supporter of Russia while Romney was warning us that the Russkies were one of our greatest threats. Of course, Romney was openly mocked by Democrats for suggesting such a thing.

No one you mention would accept Russia the way Trump does. Putin helped Trump because he knew he would get nothing but trouble from Hillary; her position was extremely clear.

I'm afraid you idea of reality is seriously unrealistic.

Quite right Steve. We should leave Twardlow alone to bask in his own make-believe World.

Liberals seem so concerned about the Russians. What's the difference? Except that the Russians are more conservative than American liberals.

Neither one particularly appreciate either the first or second amendments.

Why is it necessary to consider Russia and China as enemies? Is it just to make us a more dependent on our Govt?

Krauthammer said, “I think the scolding was unnecessary. Although, it has a long history. American congressional leaders, going back to the ’50s, have complained about NATO’s lack of contribution, lack of support. There’s nothing new there.”

He continued, “But what was new, and I think the real headline was, that after everything had been teed up for the president of the United States to reassure NATO that we would stand with them, the president refused to say the simple phrase, ‘We will honor Article 5.’ Which is that if one of us is attacked, all of us is attacked.”"

Krauthammer is fading away. Too bad because he used to make sense.

It's so they can find an excuse to bash Trump.

Because Russia hacked into our computer networks to spy on us, which, you know, is a crime. (Funny how Republicans are so strict on "a crime is a crime" when it come to illegal immigration, but so forgiving with Russia).

And China regularly dump subsidized products on to the US market, attempting to destroy the US manufacturing industry. ANd even Trump acknowledged they are a currency manipulator --- until they bought him off by granting him & Ivanka trademarks in China.

If hacking into networks is a crime then I guess the U.S. is a criminal Nation. If interfering in other nations govt. and elections is criminal then once again the U.U. should be wearing a striped suit. In any case though this should not make them a threat Militarily.

Most of Europe's population has no idea that they owe their existence to the United States. Were it not for us the official language would be Russian. It was the US that prevented the takeover of Europe by Stalin. The only reason why Berlin was not completely owned by the Soviets was the Berlin Airlift. It was the strength of the US that allowed Nato to exist in tyhe first place. The concept of Europe paying for it's own defense is unthinkable the the leaders Europe. It's about time that the burden place on the American taxpayer for the defence of europe be greatly reduced.

He had two goals: make sure the ME countries understood radical Islamic terrorism is their problem first, and make sure NATO (Europe) understood they have the primary responsibility for their own defense first.

He was quite successful at both.
