This Damselfly is larger than the sensor in my camera. But, there is so much detail I thought it might do well here.

Beautifully clear shot. I notice that the wing structure is made partly from pentagons and partly from 4 sided figures and wonder the significance of this difference, if any.

Hi Brenda: Thanks for your nice comment on the picture. The network arrangements of some insect wing veins is probably related to the structural requirements of the wing along with the genetic (Evolutionary) material available. In the study of insect wings the longitudinal veins along with a few cross veins are of more significance. To get an idea of how extensive this subject is check out the Wikipedia article “insect wing”
