Looks like my first table saw. You will need at least 1hp but must be 3450 rpm for a table saw I would check Farm & Fleet or Granger but for granger you may need an account.

I have a Craftsman table saw from about 1966. The motor no longer works, but I hesitate to repair or replace it considering the total lack of safety features compared with my newer table saws. All it takes is one mishap with a table saw to ruin your future.

How old is it? Noah used it on the ark. If you can't find a motor at a reasonable price, you might consider buying a newer model which might not cost much more than a new motor. I do like the older tools and there is value in keeping them running, but sometimes the newer safety features are good to have.

Grainger is your friend for motors...

Also you might try youtube search... or even ebay... Maybe a similar saw is available there and someone might be kind enough to give you the info you need?

Do a Tim Allen "Tool Time" mod. Drop a Chevy 350 LT-1 Corvette motor under the hood. Guaranteed to cut 1/4" plywood. or stone, or marble, whatever.

Yeah, he had some crazy ideas, but people are doing things like that now. Did you see the video of the Chevy V-8 snowblower?

I agree with a previous poster, no more than 1 hp for that saw, it's an entry level saw at best.

GM Swede. I have a saw similar. I have a 1HP with 1725 RPM on it. Plenty of power. Originally it a 3/4 HP. Mod Number of mind is 5200. Rockwell. Made in Canada. Nice saw> I've used it a lot in my woodworking shop. I've been looking for a set of guide rails for mind because some of the teeth are worn. Good Luck

Why do you need a Rockwell motor?

Measure the diameter of the saw-blade pulley, and then go to a Grainger or equivalent store and buy a motor. If you are going to cut plywood, a 3/4HP may be fine, if you will be ripping 3 inch oak, 1 1/2HP may not be enough. The reason for measuring the pulley is to buy the proper speed motor and the proper motor pulley to keep the blade speed under the listed maximum blade speed on the saw blade.

My dad would just stick an old washing machine motor on it....
