Great and beautiful place to see and visit, you've really did Monument Valley justice.

Outstanding captures. I really enjoyed them and Monument is on my bucket list. The first one that you called a shooting star was taken for 25 sec and may be just a plane trail. But either way, I like it,
How did you extract that info?

Beautiful! Would it be too much to ask what equipment and settings you used? And where they were taken from? I am a relative newbie and trying to learn. I will be in Monument Valley in the next few days. Thanks for your help.
Never received reply, probably oversight. Still trying to learn.
I shoot with a Canon 5d Mark IV which like most all new cameras have a great tolerance in high ISO's for noise. All shot using a tripod (Must for landscapes). The star shots were shot at 20 sec, but that time depends of the focal length of the lens. Aperture shot as wide as you lens can go to capture the most light to reduce the ISO. Shoot the Valley pre-sunrise to sunrise and 1 hour before sunset till 1 hour after sunset for the best color. If you are lucky and get a moonless night and have a opportunity to get the milky way in your shot, there are apps to help you with that timing...
Enjoy the views and fill up the card...

Thank you for that info. What lenses were you using? What was your location? Where did you stay?
I was using a 16-40 wide angle lens, played around with different speeds, aperture wide open and ISO set to auto. If you camera if fairly new it can go pretty high in ISO without noise. The shot of the Mittens was taken right at the entrance by the hotel, that is the most famous shot. If you dare to take you own car on the 17 mile road, many spectacular locations as you ride, but beware it will be the worst road you ever rode on. They do have predawn camera trip I saw people going on but did not have time for them... I stayed in Kayenta 20 miles away at a Hampton Inn. Read stories of some of the local motels with bugs and knew Hampton will be clean and they have a top knotch restaurant located in the hotel for evening meals. The hotel on the premise is awesome and very high in prices..
Good shooting, have fun.

Thanks so much for all the helpful and interesting information. I was in the valley yesterday, but it was cloudy and I had to get on to Scottsdale. Will be going back and following your suggestions. I usually go through Monument Valley 8-10 times a year in different seasons. It is a magical place and I am learning from you how to capture it.
