Here's a small sampling of my best bird photos so far this year. All were shot with my trusty Nikon D300 coupled with a Sigma 150x600C lens. I would be interested in feedback from other members. Constructive criticism is most welcome.
Welcome to the forum, and your birds too! People that think shooting birds is easy have most likely never tried it. Even with a 600mm with a 1.4 TC getting closer is always better. I shoot with a good group of photographers and several shoot out of Kayaks and get a different perspective with almost an eye to eye shot. There are several very good bird (BIF) shooters in your area and one that comes to mind is Rocky that has done some great shots of owls (Short-eared). I do like how you refer to your camera, trusty Nikon D300, because it helps knowing it as well as the back of your hand. From what I see I'd guess you have been at this sort of thing for a while. Thanks for sharing your best birds of the past Winter and Spring, very well done!
Your best are really special.

Outstanding collection of photos. Must say that I like the elusive kingfisher best.

Really beautiful shots, saxman71!
They are definitely good shots!
