A magnificent animal that must be saved. This picture however has to many distracting elements. Mainly the rocks in the foreground and the white tree that transects his head. Perhaps cropping can help, but the tree would still be a problem.
I have found that shooting at a zoo often leaves you limited options. The picture is fine.
I very much appreciate your capture. Thank you for sharing. 👍
Thank you, I almost though I would had to travel to the Himalayas to get a good photo of him, lol. I know he means well in his criticism, but I believe what I should had done was raise my aperture a little more and maybe rise my shutter speed then it would had limited so much background light.,
Thank you for taking your time to look through it. Is always nice to share my work with others.

You can fix it up with post processing. If you'd like to see what folks can do with ot post it in the post processing forum. Be sure to use 'store original' so they have a large enough image to work with.
You should have used spot metering on the critter's eye. That would overexpose the background even more but you can darken or replace it with post processing. Or you could have tried bracketing if he wasn't moving.
The composition would be more pleasing if his head wasn't centered.
Thank you, I believe the rocks are not a distraction, if anything they make it intriguing and gives support to the photo, yes the tress are a distraction and maybe I should had raise the shutter speed and the aperture as well to close down some of that extreme light in the back. But thank you as well.
I love going to Zoo Miami also. I usually wait until the tiger get out of the shade. For some reason this guy always likes to pose for me. I agree. He is a magnificent animal. All these pictures are cropped. I haven't been there lately cause I have developed Diabetic Neuropathy & it just hurts to walk. And other reasons too. Enjoy the pictures.
He's beautiful, DaDiCarr! Good shot!
Thank you, I enjoy going to Zoo Miami, is one of my favorite places, but it takes me almost four hours to get from my house to the zoo. I usually wind up walking between 5 to 8 miles, is a mile and a half from the main Road to the entrance of the zoo, The public transportation only goes in on weekends , and for me is hard on weekends because there is barely much transportation where I live. I have to take two buses to the train, then when I get to Tri-Rail I get the Metro then another bus to get to the zoo, and when I get there I have to walk a mile and a half. By the time I get to the zoo, I'm tired already, but this is what I love doing.
I notice that you didn't ask for advice so I will just tell you what I do. Now it takes a very photographic eye to see that things are out of contrast while your shooting, there is so much to consider at times, I had to shoot a bunch of family portraits for well, a big group with with 26 different branches. They wanted it done in natural light, by the river, on the dock, in the shade with bright sun lit backdrop but while I was setting up the test shots were too dark. At some point the cam timed out and when it was rebooted it switched to full auto, it was a Canon, all menu setup. Well the faces were bright and kind of shined like they had sun reflecting off the water some how. Lucky break; big tip! Now I use it when I see how things shape up.

I enjoyed the close up front views.
Thank you. I usually do auto when I need a guide to more or less have a great shot, but I am easily distracted and when I go take another shot or something else, I forget I have to set up the feature once again for the next photo. I have a Nikon, But I wanted to try Canon and I guess I must not be to appreciative, because I do not like canon that much, or it could be the model I bought. Anyway I will stick to Nikon, I guess I will have to sell my Canon now for less just to get enough money to buy myself another Nikon to have an extra camera for switching lenses becomes tedious after a while.
