On a small lake in our subdivision a female swan sits on her nest. The male swan is about 100 feet away protecting her.Taken with my D800 and Nikon 200-500

Annie, Thanks for looking and you lovely comment. Yes, I plan to go everyday and check the status. Once all the eggs have been laid, which can take 2-3 weeks, 9which my sense they have0they will all be incubated (ie sat on to start the growth process) at the same time with hatching usually 42 days (6 weeks) later.
You will be invited to the baby naming party.

Consider it done. You can name of the babies.Do you want Filet or Salmon or Chicken dinner for the event?
The young swan is called a cygnet, from the French word for "swan."
