F6 for D700 or D7000?

After many years I'm moving to digital and selling my Nikon F6. I do like the FX format but am wondering if I should go with a D700 or the FX format with a D7000? I appreciate any and all comments.

Many thanks for the comparison. Since I'm partial to the FX format and have little interest in video I think you've helped me make up my mind.

Google search a little more before you make up your mind, but I think the stats say it all for what you need. Any reason why you are focused on Nikon? Curious is all.

your question sounds like you have the 700 and 7000 reversed the D700 is a full frame Fx the 7000 is a cropped sensor DX

Of course; that's the advantage of Nikon. Both AF and AIS are compatible.

If you are going from film to digital, go for the D700. The sensor is the same as the 35mm film size. Your lenses will all fit and
look the same as with your film camera.
Aside from the $ question why give up your F6? You might keep it as a back up camera body as I've kept my F100 body, shoot film on it rather than change lenses on your Digital. Wide angle on one, tele on the other. Have fun...

Your advise is good and I'm leaning toward the 700 for all the same reasons. Money is the issue and it will depend on what I get for my F6 but at the rate the auction is going on eBay, it's looking pretty good for the bigger sensor...
Thanks
