Very nice shots. The doves around here are always on the wing. Perhaps they're camera shy. They certainly take off as soon as I show up. I'm envious of these shots.

Thanks Dennis, but 90 plus percent of the shots don't don't come out sharp. My cyber garbage can is overflowing.

As everyone has noted, these are exceptional shots of a bird that is more difficult to shoot with a camera than it is with a shotgun. I am impressed.

bajadreamer...Very kind of you to say that. And yes, I do have much better luck with a shotgun.

Great shots. Doves are quick and you did well. In that you are using 2 bodies, let me guess. The third one was taken with the 7dii?

Nalu...Thank you, and I appreciate your complimentary remarks. I am indeed shooting with two bodies, but in the case of the 3rd photo...it was taken with the 1DX (sorry).

Birds in flight are my least favorite area of photography (for me to photograph). You, however, do an awesome job! These are fantastic!

Steve...That really is nice of you to say. I like shooting BIF because of the challenge, (I think ). I must admit, my success rate is low, but I'm too hard headed to stop trying.

I would send those shots to Remington, Federal, & even Winchester & get a bidding war going! Those have to be salable in one market or another! How about starting your own Target making Company!...

Thank you Vicki...For me, the trick to getting dove in flight is to set up a simple blind and wait for them to come to me. I don't usually like shots of birds flying away. I always look for a farmers grain field were I see lots of dove coming in. I also have a big advantage, in that I live next to Fresno State University, which is a major agricultural school. I sit myself down in the middle of a barley or wheat field with some cheap camo netting around me and simply wait em out. Often times it works pretty well.

Mustanger...I've sent a number of my shots to various magazines, with rarely a reply. They are honestly not interested. I used to have a website, and I did sell some photos when it was up and running. I need to find someone who can market them for me. I don't seem to have any talent for that.

Sue...Thank you very much for the very kind compliment. Capturing dove in flight is really fun for me. We have a lot of them here in the central valley of California, and I have plenty of opportunities to fire away at them with my camera. My number of keeper photos is very low, but that OK. I just keep firing away.
