All of the above pictures were taken when I was in the Navy aboard the U.S.S. Shenandoah AD-26 a repair ship; I was 21 years old. Pictures and memories, are wonderful.
Beautiful place. We took the train from Rome to the hill country in southern Italy to visit family in 1973. We had lunch in Salerno while waiting for the local train to Potenza. We haven't been back yet, but we will. That was part of an 11 week trip that took us all over Europe.
