When you say we, you mean the criminals, gang bangers, and people that don't own guns legally. Law abiding legal gun owners (the vast majority of people who possess guns) account for a small amount of the killings committed with guns. So, being law abiding, I choose to protect myself from the people who wish to do harm with thier illegal guns. I love my family enough to spend the time and money in training and practice to be effective at doing so if the second worst day of my life were to manifest.

In this case I figured it out.
And she knew they came in herds. She was/is an LAPD Metro Squad cop. They are sort of the on call backup for the rest of the department on anything that SWAT isn't needed for, yet. They mostly respond to gang problems, riots, major event security, etc. etc.

And just where do you get that statistic? Or is it an opinion? (and be aware that according to FBI stats on gun deaths over 2/3 of them are suicides - you can discount them since a suicidal person will just use something else if their first choice is not available)
Think about your answer first, I am a retired History/Government teacher with a lot of experience in research, life member of the NRA, veteran, former alarm response security worked in the firearms industry part time for a while and have done a lot of reading of materials by people on both sides of the firearms question over the years. So I will not just take what you say without checking, if I don't already know about the source you name.
