I've heard of kimchi but never tried it while TDY to Teagu, So. Korea. But never heard of the Nipp version while 26 mos at Tachikawa, and nothing in the P.I. at all appealed to me especially Baluts. LOL

We have an influence of Latin people all around Wisconsin. The South side of Milwaukee is full of immigrants from Mexico, Central and South America. They have a liberal activist group called voces de la frontera. Don't think the border states are the only ones affected by illegals. I taught school in Milwaukee. Years ago I had a student ask me for help on a college entrance form. They were afraid to answer the question "Birth City", because he was an illegal and might be found out.

Unfortunately every state has the same problem. I just figured that when get that far north it would be too cold for them.

That's what I thought, but about 20 yrs ago I had dinner in a rotating restaurant in Ottawa. We were serenaded by a Mexican 3-member band (Marimba?) while we dined. They were good.
