I use Lightroom, so it is my first choice. I also have DXO Optics Pro, for those difficult images that are shot with high ISO. I use Nikon and tried using the Nikon software. It is slow and clunky, but it does interpret every camera setting correctly. Big deal, I want better results. I also use a ColorChecker Passport, which works best on images imported to Lightroom, and I use a variety of plugins, all of which are 100% compatible with Lightroom and Photoshop. I also like the results I get with Merge to Panorama and Merge to HDR.

If I were to change horses at this point, I would probably use Capture One - which has the best damn raw converter in the business.

I am also getting more comfortable with On1 Raw, which offers a lot of what C1 offers in terms of adjustments and layering (in raw), and better integration with it's Effects Layers and Portrait modules, all of which I use extensively.

Photoshop, I've used it for years, it gives the same RAW control as Lightroom, although a different format. Them I'm already in Photoshop for sny other editing I may wish to do.

Lightroom. That's what I have, so that's what I use. Irfanview (free) opens any raw image, so it's convenient for a quick look.

Jerry, are you using a stand-alone version of Lightroom or the subscription version? I am using Lr 5 (disc) but am considering the Lr/Ps CC version for $120 per year. ~FiddleMaker

Lightroom for workflow and general whole-image adjustments... Photoshop for pixel-level editing... SilkyPix Developer Studio SE for developing difficult images... Graphic Converter X for all sorts of kicks and giggles.

I also use Apple Photos on rare occasions.

80% Lightroom and 10% Photoshop and 10% other. I try to stay in LR for all the workflow integration advantages. But I absolutely LOVE what SilkyPix does with Panasonic raw files.

I shoot raw and process with Lightroom sometimes with Affinity.

I was introduced to Lightroom by one of my Photography instructors and was impressed with its cataloging system and its ability to perform non-distrutive editing. Formerly I had used PS Elements for editing but was not prepared to pay for PS. Being able to have a $10/month subscription for both LR and PS sold me. Addmitidly I am way down on the PS learning curve.

Lightroom for 100% of my images and then I either use Photoshop or Portrait Pro for things that are easier done in those programs. I use Lightroom for all of my photo management.

I have used elements for years and now LR, and it works without any problems. Why change?

I use Lightroom exclusively. After taking photos, I put the SD card into my laptop's built in card reader, and W10 takes the NEF images, and installs them directly on my WD 2TB drive into a file it creates named with the current date. I open the file in Lightroom, and after editing, I save the JPG images LR creates into my 1TB WD drive. If my explanation seems to simplistic for some of you, I apologize. The skill levels of those who follow this forum are extremely varied, so I have intentionally made my explanation easy to understand.

Capture One is fabulous. On trials I could never get as good results on Lightroom.

I just suck at it. Just what does that mean? That makes me think you are a picture taker, not a photographer.

Lightroom 6 Been there for a few years so more familiar and like it post processing. But I use Faststone and Win 10 File Management for sorting files.
