Wonderfully composed, which is amazing to me, since I am thinking they do not sit for very long so you can get the best angle! Really well done, Vicki, and I never tire of well done images!

Thoughtful input is greatly appreciated, and you always seem to spend a lot of time analyzing. Thanks so much Carla. I'm glad you enjoyed these.

Thanks for sharing. I lived in Novato from 87-89, beautiful place. When I moved back to Orange County; the Loma Prieta/World Series earthquake took place while my house was in escrow.

For those following this post, the hummers are migrating north. We had 4 Anas that stayed with us in Prescott through the winter, but for the past few weeks we've had around 40 or more at a time around our 2 feeders at sunset. During the day they chase each other off, but as sunset draws near, every feeder opening is full and several are hovering waiting for an opening. We have been going through over 8 cups of feeding solution a week; we probably went through less than that all winter. I have some low light photos taken through a window that I need to try to clean up before posting. My guess is that they migrate across the Sonora Desert when the cactus flowers start to bloom.

Very nice set. I don't have the opportunity to see them in person, so I appreciate your shots. I can't put up a bird feeder where I live.

These are for those of you who aren't tired of seeing HBs. As long as they're willing to pose, I'll keep shooting. Their colors can be amazing, changing as the light hits them.

Excellent captures of the beautiful hummers, Vicki. They are some of the prettiest of our feathered friends.

I find their feather definition interesting. Other birds, like doves, seem much smoother. Maybe there's less weight and a little more air in HB feathers. As you've pointed out, they're very pretty.

Thanks for the time you've taken to both look and comment AGYG. Your kind words are greatly appreciated.
