If you mean a printing rip I don't think there is a free program ,however I certainty could be wrong
I use Qimage and am very happy with the results but thatnprogram will not work on a Mac

Have research a similar program for macs but so far they are much more expensive

Qimage is great - been using it since 2008.

I use LRCC on my iMac and it satisfies me.

Most printers have a Mac version software. I tried using PSE to print and got poor quality --Advised to use proper Canon printer software and got much better results. Unless there is a specific need - I would use printer software.
Have fun

I used "Qimage Studio" for many years but when ddisoftware, in 2013, stopped supporting it (read updating), I found that LR did what I wanted. That plus they explained that the new version would provide no advantage to legacy users and would have a cost. I, as a result of this thread, looked at the current version (http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/) and have contacted them for the offered discount pricing for us earlier supporters. We'll see what happens... in any event, I am happy with LR as my print program.

Glad to see this. I just bought an Epson XP-860 photo printer and Epson does not have any printing software for it. This replaced an Artisan 837 that went bad. The software for it was great but will not work with this new printer. I wrote Epson about it, but did not get a reply. I will try out the recommended program. Sounds great.

My go-to free program for printing is Photoscape. It has a lot of options (including lay-outs for multiple images onto one sheet) and is easy to use.

Thanks for the mention about photoscrape. I always recommend that to my students for options in pp software
Haven't check it out in a long time so wasn't aware about the printing options

I heartily recommend Qimage.

Check out their new overdrive interpolation setting at this link: http://www.ddisoftware.com/qimage-u/tech-prt.htm

Hi Jerrylh.
I have the same Epson XP-860 and find it an excellent printer. There is a program on their disc called Epson Easy Photo Print. I have had this included on previous models as well. Can't quote on the quality but find it excellent

Epson Photo Print will not work with this printer. I had it for the A-837 and really liked it. I tried to get a version that will work with this printer and there is none.
I got the Qimage someone posted and it is very good, but far more complex than I needed. Its quality is the best I have seen.
Thanks for writing. Jerry
