My understanding wife of many years indulged me with a Nikon D750. I couldn't wait to take it for a spin so I went out to a site about 30-40 minutes away. I have never been happy with my shots of this subject. It just lay there in the back of my mind like unfinished business; there was something I hadn't been able to adequately capture. It is a place I intend to visit many times more but I came closer this time to what my mind's eye imagines. While this is pleasing to me, I am confident that this place has many more stories to tell.

Nice colour, Nice placement, I would like to see a little more detail of the barn siding and the for ground, really don't know if that would
Be good or bad , but it's worth a try , if you used raw it should be no problem

An excellent capture of a peaceful scene, Shootist! I like the tranquil mood. Take your Nikon D750 out for another spin and show us more.

Pretty - - for a 5-shot HDR
Although it's an artistic opinion, I'd like a bit more of the barn in the final rendering
Enjoy your new toy

wow...Does this photo need editing. Too bad you exposed for the sky. Next time expose for the barn. And frame the barn either higher or lower, not smack dab on the horizon.

I appreciate your suggestions. On my monitor there is rich detail on the house, front and side. Perhaps there is a difference in how your and my monitors are calibrated. This photo was taken out in a basin so there is not much in the possibility of vertical placement for the buildings. I felt that the placement worked pretty well but then there is no accounting for personal taste. I hope that my next try will come more into line with your expectations.

IBM. Thanks for the viewing of the photo. I did three photos +, - 1 stop. My synthesis on my monitor shows a lot of detail in the barn. I guess I need to determine why the downloads don't reflect this.

Thanks so much. It was a peaceful place to shoot except for two Boarder Collies and a Labradoodle from the ranch next door that kept wanting their ears scratched. Actually, they added to the charm of the experience even with the interruptions..

Jan, I so much appreciate your encouragement. I bet the Carolinas are a photographer's paradise right about now. My folks are from East Carolina and we have spent much time in West Carolina, all are beautiful.
