Anyone had recent experience with Newegg? They have some refurbished Apple computers at cheap prices. Some too cheap. Don't know anyone who has purchased anything from Newegg. And don't want to waste my money. Thoughts? Recommendations?
Never purchased a refurb machine from them but I've been buying from them for years with great success.
Same here...lots of stuff from them including refurbs.
Good customer service.

My son just ordered a 1000w power supply for his PC. Arrived today, ahead of schedule. We found that if you Google Newegg coupon code, you can get instant savings on some items. He saved about $30 on his order. Excellent company to do business with.
One thing about Newegg, at least in the past couple years is that Newegg has expanded to include other sellers beside the brick and mortar Newegg store. It is now Newegg Marketplace. I have been buying from Newegg for close to ten years, have been burned no more than a dozen times and each time it was by a new seller to the Marketplace. Newegg has always went out of their way if necessary to make me whole. They understand that a customer will return the same loyalty shown to them.

I used them once at my son's recommendation for some part I needed;he's an IT tech, and had no problems with them or the part, but that was about 20 years ago. I didn't even realize they were still in business.
Pray you don't need to attempt a return or replacement.
I've used New Egg quite successfully, never had to return anything, usually very prompt delivery, good prices, in fact the computer I'm typing on came from them and the external drive attached to it, Yeah I'm happy with them, let us know how you make out if you order a refurb from them,Bob.

I've bought a lot of stuff from Newegg, and they have a good reputation. I bought two refurb Apples directly from Apple. I wouldn't hesitate to buy anything from Newegg.

I love refurbs and have purchased several manufacturer factory refurbished cameras. BUT Tigerdirect and Newegg both sell refurbs done by 3rd parties. My experience with a Lenova laptop was that it was poorly done and, in fact, the USB port did not work, the power cable (from the power brick) had been severed and repaired and taped up with plastic electrician's tape. That is unacceptable.
My advice is only by manufacturer factory refurbs. Every one of my Nikon factory refurbs as well as an Epson factory refurb have all been as good as new. The Lenova was bad--and Newegg didn't want to take it back (Some exception in their return policy for refurbs.)
I have recently made several purchases from Newegg and have always been very satisfied with their products and service. One recent purchase was a hard drive enclosure for a friend, when it arrived I found that it did not have the right pin configuration for his hard drive. The return process was very easy and they even paid for the return shipping charges! They always process orders quickly and their shipping charges are quite reasonable. I have not been disappointed with the quality of the products either.
I also have been buying from Newegg for years and have never had a problem. I have no experience with refurbs, however. Their prices cannot be beat. I have bought stuff at 80% discount, though I believe the price they quote is the suggested retail price, which very few vendors sell for. I hunt and pick. There are online markets that have a large inventory that do use the SRP, however. It seems that, by having a tremendous choice of what you want, they can charge the maximum price, because many online shoppers do not do their research, and, occasionally, because they have specialized merchandise.
It has been several years since I've purchased from them but was really happy with their service/price. I had a Asus motherboard fail during the warranty period. After a phone call from my repair tech not only did they cross ship a replacement but they also sent a refund since the motherboard was cheaper at that time then when I purchased it. I hope they are still the same company as they were then A+.
Thanks to everyone for the feedback. I feel much better considering a purchase based on your experiences. Newegg prices on many of the refurbished Apple computers are much lower then other sources. And some so much lower that they sounded too good to be true. Your feedback gives me enough confidence to move forward if I find the right product-price combination. This is another huge benefit of UHH. And I will be sure to let you know my experiences if/when I buy. Thank you.

I bought a refurb Dell from Newegg about a year ago for my mother to play games on. It arrived promptly and has worked flawlessly since.
I would buy from them again.
