Movavi

I recently got Movavi Screen Capture Studio 8 ($50), mainly to copy video from my screen to my computer. I tried it on a few before paying the price, and it works very well. I've been experimenting with different videos and different techniques, and it seems to work flawlessly. It can also edit picture and sound, but I'm more accustomed to using PowerDirector for editing. So, if you want a program that can capture stills and video from your monitor, give Movavi a look.

I have a free program included with Windows Vista up to Windows 10 simply called "Snipping Tool". It only for a still capture and is very east to use. I'm not sure why I would need to do a video capture. I keep a link on my toolbar for quick access.

I just tried that in Windows 7. Where does the screen copy go to? I had a pop-up asking if I wanted to share it with Dropbox which I didn't. I'll stick with the Snipping Tool. It's simple and works great.

I use Print Screen all the time and open it in Irfanview. Movavi is mainly for video. It makes it easier to get video off the screen, and then I can edit it. I figured that out yesterday.

It's like Ctrl-C. It copies it to the Clipboard. Then you open a program - I use Irfanview - and press Ctrl-V to paste it.

Then you don't need it.

What software do you use for video editing? I mainly need to make titles and do simple fades and splice together sections of my drone videos.

We've been using PowerDirector, by CyberLink. It's an amazing program. I figured out how to adjust the length of some videos I recorded using Movavi, so I'd use that for videos I saved with Movavi.

There's a free version that limited, but you can see how it works.
