Reactions to this not so pedestrian image within a pedestrian photo of pedestrians?
make sure Keenan sees this one
I can't quite make out what your intentions were for this shot. Is it all about the stationary little girl surrounded by a sea of movement?
The two foremost people show a distinct contrast. The guy in short sleeves says it warm. The gal in the insulated hooded jacket coat says its cold.
Semantics love semantics and word play. The man with the sack of Fava Beans is going to have a friend or supper.
The leaves say that it is spring.
My guess is that "Ken" is referencing "Barbie and Ken" and the child is "Barbie".
If not it's beyond my ken.

Actually Barbie is what I thought too. I was just about to post and was so proud of being original in thought, then I saw Graham had beat me to it! The girl looks oddly like a miniaturized adult, and thus a bit like Barbie. It makes for an unsettling, almost creepy shot! Thanks for sharing a very interesting (on multiple levels) image.
Yes, I thought of Barbie. Hence the cryptic title. I had wandered around the Saturday Market, shooting vegetables, flowers, food stalls and people; secure in the belief that I had a pretty good eye for a picture. Not having done any chimping, I examined what I had upon returning to the car. This image blew me away: never, ever, while wandering around composing masterpieces, scrutinizing the crowd, did I see this tiny woman. So much for the "pretty good eye"!
Miniev's characterizations as unsettling and creepy are exactly what I felt. That it is a woman rather than a girl is born out by her clothes, her hair-do, her proportions other than that her head is large; and most of all, her posture and stance. Compare her image with that of the toddler being held on the right side.
Thanks to all who looked and responded, and especially to Graham and Miniev.

It's a little girl in danger of becoming lost to me. Nobody is taking any notice of her, she's lost in a crowd, or will be shortly unless someone catches-on. Nicely caught.
I think the shot would have been better if more than one person had been facing the camera within your image. In other words, more faces, fewer back of heads. As such, it looks more like a random snapshot rather than a carefully selected moment.
