It's simple, any item for sale on Amazon that ask you to call before ordering is a scam. There are so many of them right now that I doubt that Amazon can keep up with them. Hopefully they will come up with some sort of algorithm that will automatically flag these adds in the near future.

High ticket items sold at a very low price and have items like this in the description "sNëw in zBox.BëfoRe Ördër TëxT#4O5-293-57O Nine" or "Just Launched (Seller Profile)". These are scams that deliver to another address, presumably a partner in the scam. Amazon will do nothing unless you complain, a lot.

Amazon is getting like Ebay was several years ago. You just need to use common sense. These people prey on your greed.

I have been buying from Amazon for years and more and more I have been having problems with them. They let anyone sell anything they want without being screened to see if the seller is legitimate, if the information they give about the product is correct or even an out right lie. To try to counter this, call them and go over the product with a rep. Then the problems really escalate. You get a foreign rep who barely speaks English, is almost impossible to understand and they have no idea what you are talking about but try to BS their way through the conversation with you, wasting your time and only showing over and over again that they have no idea what you are saying. Then when you ask for a rep in the USA (which they are required by law to connect you), they either refuse to do so or put you through hell to get them to connect you. Then when you get to the US rep (if they finally do connect you), you are fed a bunch of lies that you find about later after you spent your money. Then you call back to get the problem resolved and you are informed that everything the rep told you was untrue; but Amazon will nothing to resolve the problem. zThen you are left with the final resort to file a dispute with your credit card company that can take several months to have it put to rest.

I have experienced this exact scenario the last tow times I tried to order an item at Amazon. Neither purchase was photo equipment, but the point is, why would one continue to keep purchasing from Amazon when they keep treating their customers this way. Has anyone else had similar experiences with Amazon with purchases? I personally, think that I am done ordering from them and highly caution others from doing business with them; they re rapidly getting wore and worse. I could give details btt it would be like a chapter in a book to explain step by step problems and why they were a problem but the routine is as described.
I have been buying from Amazon for years and more ... (show quote)

Our only option is to vote with our feet and wallet. If enough people do the same Amazon will make changes.
I saw that Walmart is gunning for Amazons business. Nothing like a little competition to keep things in the customer's favor!

So far no real problems, but I have recognized that may items are not sold from Amazon but from third parties. Their descriptions are woefully lacking in detail and are more or less useless.

IMHO Amazon is only going to destroy the faith that the public has in dealing with them. The primary cause is their (Amazon's) greed.

Oh, a state law? Your state wouldn't cover me, but I would be interested in seeing a link to your law.

I was given the information over the phone. To my understanding it is a federal law and if you heard of it before, I'd guess that to be true. I have also had it confirmed by some supervisors at some companies when I finally reached them. I always try to give anyone who answers the phone a chance, but when you get one who has no idea what you saying and/or I cannot understand them, I ask for someone in the USA. I have not seen the law in print and if I did, it would greek to me. I am not good at reading legal BS.

My business dealings with Amazon have been very good so far. One time, I ordered something and they sent two of the item, I emailed them to tell them and they told me to keep the extra. I've been refunded on occasion with no problems. Gee, I hope it keeps up. Sorry for your predicament.

My purpose of posting my dilemma with them is to alert others to the fact that Amazon will pull this BS on you. I too, hope that it is not something new and I may have been the first person on this forum to experience it. I personally, will only order from them in the future as a last resort. To me, with other great places to order photo gear or other items, it makes no sense to order from Amazon in the future if there is an alternative source. After all; it is only us, as consumers, who will put the brakes on wrong business practices by not dealing with them. It's amazing how quickly, one can get a businesses attention when the gravy train suffers; to most businesses, that is he only thing in the world that means anything in the world to them.

If you carried on with Amazon or other suppliers as you have done here, then I can see why you have a problem. Your explanations make little sense to me and your spelling mistakes only compound the issue. I have made more than a thousand buys from Amazon and some were shipped by overseas suppliers but were so indicated if one read everything. I can only remember one bad purchase where it needed to be settled by Amazon. After going thru the complaint process at Amazon they quickly gave me my money back. BTW I have had similar good experiences with EBAY.

Obviously, you have not caught the problem. The only carrying on I have had to do here is to constantly repeat what was originally explained and so many cannot comprehend and more it goes on, the more incapable the whiners are.

We understand very well. What you don't understand is that the problem seems to be you. Take your business elsewhere. End of story.

Agin, you have a comprehension problem if you think I am the problem!

since you can't seem to get our sympathy or make us understand you are not going to get your solution in this venue. Suggest you find another soapbox, perhaps Hyde Park in London!

If you approached Amazon with the same attitude you have shown here I can understand why Amazon would not be responsive. You tell us about a highly unstable item that has to be handled carefully in order to be usable. You received two bad shipments of the product. Neither shipment was satisfactory. Maybe you should buy from a local source to insure it is the way you want it. It seems to make no difference to you that the great majority of people commenting on this link are highly satisfied with Amazon. Amazon has always bent over backwards for me to make things right. I have interacted with them by both phone and Chat and have never had a problem with them understanding me or me understanding them. Incidentally, like others commenting, I have used them for many years and made countless purchases from them. On the contrary the opposite is usually true. They go the extra mile to satisfy a customer like the time they missed shipment on an expensive Car Starter and refunded my purchase price and told me if the lost item shows up at my doorstep just keep it. The following day it did show up and I have a State of the Art car starter for free. That is the Amazon I know and will continue shopping with.
