Isn't exactly the same but my MacBook Pro runs Lightroom 6 (v. 6.8) with no difficulty. The computer is the latest version of MacBook Pro, same with Sierra.

I'll be watching this thread so that I can learn...what you learn. I have and use CS5, and have wondered if I replace my iMac, would I be able to install my CS5 onto a new desktop iMac.

I have 2 iMacs and a MacBook Pro all running Sierra. I have had no problems with any of the versions of any Adobe product.

Jeffcs, I assume you called Adobe for an auth. code number, or were you able to use the number that came with your disc?

Yes I did have to provide proof of ownership for the software
Yes it's the same license that came with the disc
And thank goodness I have an adobe user account number
Than unauthorized on old computer
Than install on my new iMac
In the end it's all worth the headache

Since folks like you and me have invested our money into our Creative Suites, it's worth the work to be able to benefit from our investments. For me, I've purchased Photo Shops since PS1, that long time ago, and then each update, until CS6, which I was planning to skip until CS7....which never came about.

I'm trying to understand why you can't open your raw files in CS6. Is it an issue with you now owning an ultra new camera? I'm using a Canon 5DII, which by today's standards, is a bit of an "old camera".

I think you might have problems going beyond yosemite. There seems to be 2 main area's where apple changed things they made the system drive case sensitive and they did away with the legacy java 6. Adobe isn't going to provide upgrades for it's non CC products.

Now the question then becomes can you run yosemite on current macs?

I'm in an interesting position right now I want to run the latest ibooks author and it doesn't run very well in a Virtual machine in parallels also i know i'm going to lose my ntfs compatibility so this mac which supports sierra i will not upgrade beyond yosemite but i'm just downloading el capitan on an older mac which is the highest version it can take. This may be a mistake and i will need to revert to yosemite. Lightroom5 may have a few issues and camera tethering which I don't use doesn't work. I think i need to get a time machine backup made of my other mac before trying out el capitan. Thankyou for bringing up the subject I now will proceed with caution.

I have D5 & D500 also in Olympus Pen-F & OMD EM-1 Mark2
All produce raw files that older versions do not support

I doubt that the issue is with the Mac OS. My computer came with Mountain Lion in 2010 and I've upgraded to every OS since, through Sierra. I've never had an issue with Bridge, CS6 or opening raw files.
The issue might be that the preferences in CS6 was reset inadvertently. Go through the preferences menus and you might find the issue.
