Something I quickly snapped on my way to work. Something new look around the left and right edges and you will notice new growth on the trees. Midway down there is an old tree toppled into the water - not very noticeable. This is one of my favorite spots on my way to work.

That press looks like it could still work, MattPhox. What flavor grapes you got there. Mustang grapes grow along some country roads here in TX.

Photophile, what’s old and what’s new, I know they’re all special to you.

WendiW, you are doing well. I would have shot at a little lower angle, but that a personal preference on composition. Great with the old and new, and she is special.

Roadrunner, mothers are beautiful.

Pg 6:
Roadrunner, that is “berry good”.

Godend Rule, vintage photos are great, and special when they include someone known.
Photophile, now who you calling old here.

Pg 7:
Nice series, Woodsliv, love that old Speed Graphic. Don’t think I’d want to carry it around to places I like to shoot.

Pat, I did better than that. We went to Scuzzi’s, a nice Italian restaurant. And yes we had lunch today on the boxes we brought home.

l-fox, perfect series, the old, the new, and the special.

Katspangle, great.

Roadrunner, you’re right, and I’m with you. So, you’re still setting fires inside I guess.

Pg 8:
Good stuff, Photophile. Must be hard to blow and sculpt glass inside a bottle.

Pat, yesterday?? Maybe not! Last week, maybe. And I see the Pat and Jim story continues.

Good looking crew, Mattphox.

Pg 9:
Mattphox, I don’t hardly wear the first kind much anymore either.

Judy, I hadn’t seen a hexagon house myself, but I did go look up some layouts. Found a number of interesting possibilities.

Ok photophile,

Thanks for your comment. I believe the grapes around here are Concord. My mother used to make grape jelly with them. Now my wife picks the grape leaves and uses them to make a meal called sarma. She makes a stuffing of lamb, onion and spices, etc. Then its rolled in the grape leaves individually and cooked in a broth. Delicious.

I have seen other houses that shape and always wondered if the rooms were shaped like a wedge.

Octagonal for a purpose. In Ozaukee County Wisconsin (just north of Milwaukee), Octagonal barns were very common and were capable of withstanding severe winds.

http://www.co.ozaukee.wi.us/629/Octagonal-Barns

The architectural design of the barn is Dutch and German The 8 walls of the barn made the structure capable of withstanding the fierce winds off nearby Lake Michigan. Each of the 8 walls is 26 feet wide and 20 feet high. The barn has 3,200 square feet of floor space. The top of the cupola stands 60 feet above ground level.

Neat info Tom! Thanks for sharing! If we are ever in the area I'll have to check it out!
