I own one of these. It's not the most precision piece of equipment that I have used but it does work and it does get the job done, it tends to be a little top heavy on the tripod. I have found that I rarely need the cross bar adjustment and tend to use my Oben MFR4-5 Macro Focusing Rail a little more when I'm using a rail. I do a lot of indoor macro work and recently I have been experimenting with Control My Nikon ( there is also a Control My Canon) software to do my focusing. Rather than using a mechanical rail my focusing is done by the lens without me touching the camera which gives me much better control over the shot. The other product I'm looking at to do this is Helicon Focus to do the same thing. Right now I'm stacking my photos in Photoshop with good results but I may move to Helicon or Zerene a little later.
