It seems to like abstracts, though . (This is my edit of one of Minniev's shots). Maybe it's more a fan of Salvador Dali rather than Ansel Adams....

It's purpose is to assess an image's suitability as a stock photo. Bearing in mind that the internet is already awash with certain types of images, it's probably designed to favour shots that are refreshingly different. Because of that, it possibly goes against a shot if it's classified as an "autumn" image or a landscape shot with nothing distinctive about it (and so on).

reading the suggested tags, i get the idea it is a simple minded shape matcher.
Concentric circles = tire, more of them = vehicle, green = land, blue = water,
raggedy horizon = mountain, autumn colors= fall landscape, face = people, fan shape =tree,
All fuzzy = abstract, etc, etc
Then it assigns a value based on how often current images of that type are being viewed on facebook, google...

Could there also be a factor of uniqueness built into the algorithm? It would make sense, if for stock, that higher ratings might be given to images for which there are not so many other similar shots already banked in the stock systems?

It's quite easily confused... it tagged a British BSA 500 Rocket motorcycle as a Harley Davidson... that's quite insulting to me

And even more insulting to those of us who ride Harley's.

Good riding to you,

Dennis

Some of the tags it suggests are hilarious.

It's been a welcome distraction for me

I think, in future, I will only post images that Everypixel scores at 100%
