I needed to get back to basics so I went out to my blind with my Canon 80D and my Canon 200mm f 2.8 L lens (no IS) with my Canon 1.4 TC III. That gives me the equivalent of a 280mm lens. I used my heavy tripod with no remote. ALL C&C is welcome because I learn from all the comments. The other members of UHH also learn from your comments. All detail will be with each photo as usual. I appreciate all the comments because I realize it takes your time to leave them.

Splendid shots, Greg! The camera/lens combination obviously work very well together! The test shots with your new camera combined with the 24-105mm lens were not up to your usual standards. I feel that the test was invalid because you combined a new camera with a new lens so, equipment wise, you couldn't identify the culprit, if equipment was indeed your problem. I suggest that you try the 24-105mm combined with the model 80 that you used on these. If you get the same OOF results, time to return! Results with that same lens on all of my cameras is spectacular!
Have a good week!

Splendid shots, Greg! The camera/lens combination... (

Thank you Bob for your comments. It is not the lens or the camera. It is me. I was wobbling back and forth while trying to keep the focus on a very shallow DOF. The results were out of focus flowers. I put the lens and camera combination on my heavy tripod and all is well. I am just not steady enough to get the sharpness that both items can give up. I have not used it on my 80D as of yet but I know it will be there sooner or later. The 77D will make a good second body to my Model 80D.
Thanks for your comments, they are always appreciated.
