Lovely composition and capture John, the red boat really stands out. It is great to see your Spring post hope things are getting warmer for you. Take care and enjoy the Spring season.
Thank you, Sylvia. It's always nice to hear from. Although I'm only online at UHH four times a year, I still look at the digest now and then. I enjoy following the work of you and my other photo buddies. Wishing you all the best.

Thank you, Randy. It's nice to hear from you. I'm no longer here on a regular basis and hope Madame P's health has improved and all is well with you and your hardy band of adventurers.
So nice to have you back John and with an image that puts Winter behind us.

Thank you, Pierre. When I lost my mobility, I established a new goal of one new post for each of the four seasons. Like you, I have a wonderful partner who enjoys taking me for rides so I'm able to achieve my goal. I only log on four times a year but still follow the work of all my photo buddies in the digest. I'm so old, I recognized the manure spreader. 😄
All the Best,
John
Yep,John! A sign of spring! Getting the boats all ready to enjoy! Love the colors they have chosen, looks so pretty on the blue water of the river. So excited to see that you're out and about and posting. Trust family is well, too.

Thank you for your kind words, Carlysue. I always enjoy hearing from you. The boatyard constructed these two wooden dinghies over the winter and just finished painting them. I happened to be in the area when they put them out to dry. Lucky timing on my part.
Based on my age and health, I've established a more realistic goal of posting one new image for each of the four seasons. I don't go out as often or stay as long but I still have a good time. This is my spring offering so I'll look forward to seeing you again in July.

Thank you, I'm glad you liked it. This is an old boat yard in Essex, MA. I cruised up and down this river with my boat as a young man so this area always brings back fond memories. I appreciate your comment.
Thanks, John. I could spend all day taking photos along the shore, docks, beaches, seawalls, lighthouses, etc. I spend most of my camera my time along the Connecticut and Rhode Island shoreline. I really do need to focus my photographic energy on other topics such as more people, architecture and subjects that might help me pay for my camera and lenses. I have made a few dollars taking photos of people's boats for insurance or so they can show-off with a print for their office. Those were just luck as I had the camera and they had the boat and destiny brought us together at the right moment. I dream of making a retirement income with the camera, I just haven't found a way that keeps the fun in it.
Thanks, again, for the great shot!
Greetings my friend; it is great to see you posting your spring shot. The boats are nice and bright and add a lot of color to the picture. The owners should have a very nice boating summer. I hope you can get out more as your weather turns warmer. Seriously wishing you the best!

Hi Sirius. It's so nice to hear from you. I only log onto UHH now when I post so each new season is like a mini-homecoming. All my old photo buddies stop by for a visit and I bask in the warmth of their friendship. Our grandson begins his lacrosse season next week so I will begin my season as the proud grandpa in the stands with a camera. See you in July.

Thank you, Jim. It's nice to hear from you. Because of health limitations, I've been forced to establish a more realistic goal of one new image for each of the four seasons. I only log in four times a year but still follow the work of all my old photo buddies in the digest. It doesn't allow comments but keeps me up to date. I enjoyed your recent Cumbria series.
All the Best,
John
Sure looks like spring to me.
I think the structure in the background could be another interesting subject.

Thanks for stopping by, Bill. I visit this spot every year and never run out of interesting things to photograph. It's an old shipyard that's been taken over by the local historical society. They still do a limited amount of work there just to keep it authentic. It doesn't seem to be thriving financially as I see fewer boats and less activity each time I visit.
