I live a in very pretty part of the universe, at least the part that I know. We were so lucky to have two really fine photo studio and print places, and camera shops in the immediate area. Both shops made my fotos look better than the real thing. Now one of those establishments is gone. It is a sad story of death and confusion.
The bottom line is that I don't have a great source for printing photos.

BUT!!!

I do have a pretty nice printer. it is an Epson XP 630, and makes better prints than either the UPS Store or Fedex Kinkos. I have 2 drawbacks to this printer. The first: the size of the prints; max size 8.5x11 in.
the other is the ink cartridges are so SMALL and replacement is SOOOOO expensive.

I don't really care about Brand name, though HP is not an option. Does any one out there have a GOOD suggestion, with Large Capacity Cartridges, for a "Good" $?

I have always preferred Canon printers. For the same reason I preferred Kodak film in the non-digital days, reds seem more true to life. Most of them use ink tanks rather than a cartridge. Depending on the model they take from 4 to 7 or 8 separate colors.

Check out the Canon Pixma Pro 100. https://www.bhphotovideo.com/c/search?Ntt=canon%20pixma%20pro-100&N=0&InitialSearch=yes&sts=ps

Up front cost on th printer is only $129.00 and cartridges can be refilled using Precision Color: http://www.precisioncolors.com/index.html

Cost wise you can't beat the price and this printer will print beautiful photos on many different papers and media up to 13X19". Good luck on your search.

can't improve on that advice. The Pro 100 is a great photo printer at a great price with the rebate. Canon ink can be expensive, but often comes with free paper.

I too have and like an XP 630. I buy the XL ink cartridges and find them to be quite inexpensive at Walmart or Staples.

They've been selling that printer for somewhere around $100 for years. Strange. Very nice printer, though.

I love my Epson Stylus Photo R3000. There are newer models but this one never plugs up after being left for some time. It starts right up and prints perfectly after being left for, e.g., 4 weeks! Cartridges are expensive, but they last a reasonable amount of time. Plus I will start refilling them soon with ink from a company in Canada. Can't recall the name at the moment.

Look into "Cartridge World".
They guarantee their Ink & Cartridges.
In most cases their prices for refills are just a little over half the price of branded.
Used them for years and never had a problem.
