The clever folks at Nikon omitted an eye cup on this camera. Trying to shoot on this camera when sunlight is coming in from the side is impossible. You can't see a thing. I have to pull my hat down, put my jacket hood on, etc. It is so lame. I shoot wildlife and I am outdoors all the time. This is inexcusable. There is no after market or third party solution. Has anyone managed to come up with a workaround? The side light comes streaming in and you can't see a thing in the viewfinder. Try to hold your hand up and work the controls of the camera and take a steady shot... Nah Uh.
Pat - You are legitimately frustrated, but among the details you did not indicate what Nikon camera you are referring to. Have you considered the Hoodman LCD shades? They have been popular among UHH members fighting similar issues when shooting outdoors. Just a suggestion.

Thanks for helping but notice the tite of my post "Nikon p900 Eyecup" Camera model is a P900. I'll look at the hoodman shades. Thanks,
Sorry, Pat. Read it too fast. Thought you were referring to the model number of some Nikon accessory or maybe it was the lower-case "p" that threw me. In any event, my serious, sincere suggestion stands. /Ralph
Just looked through the shades offered by B&H and could not find one for the Nikon P900. I would also be interested in finding one.
Have not found one for my P900 either, ppage. I have looked several times. When/if you find one, be sure to post the info.
I also have a new P900 and agree with you whole heartedly!
Would love to get one.

OK! It's February 2018! Is there an After Market or third party solution yet? I love this camera but I'm old school 35mm and like using the eyepiece.
It is July 2020, in the thick of the Covid-19 pandemic. Any solution to either an aftermarket eyecup or a work around using another camera eyecup and modifying it to work?
I finally found a workaround eyecup for my P900. I got an eyecup for a Canon 5D series camera. I cut a small notch out on one side to accommodate the small knob for focusing the viewfinder. It was some work to get the eyecup to slide over the P900’s eyepiece, but it works. The only glitch is that because of the size difference and slight shape difference, there is a small “dip” in rear edge of the rubber eyecup. I can’t eliminate it, but it’s not really a bother. I just hate having to look at it. Sorry, the last one is a bit fuzzy, but you can see the knob there.
