Congratulations on your new purchase. The 100-400 IS II is at the top of my "want list".
Actually the Canon 100-400mm II is a bit of a cannon... especially at the 400mm setting and with the lens hood installed.
I don't think I've ever used the little filter access port on mine (I rarely use a C-Pol on a telephoto).
OTOH, I really like the latching mechanism of the bayonet, on this and some other relatively recent Canon lenses. It's more secure than the "click-in" type on older design hoods. But Canon probably also uses that to justify charging a lot more for a replacement (I was right... just looked: $70)
Hey I'm from Buffalo and those wipers work great on my lenses....The winter blades work the best!!!

While not a big deal, you should probably learn how to spell Canon. You spelled it incorrectly all three times.
Ahh, that will mean I will have to give up spelling Nikan then....

First of all, a Cannon is a piece of artillery. Canon is a camera brand. Bridgeport vertical milling machines were always a major part of a machine shop. They used to be manufactured in Bridgeport Connecticut. Tool and Die machinist used them to actually make other tools.

Right. Is that because the correct spelling is Kikan't?
I have a variation of the Bridgeport and I never thought of using it for your solution. I may look into that on some older lenses.
