Considering the purchase of one of these four models from these two manufacturers. Lens and camera to support are Nikon 610 w/grip and Nikon 500mm f/4, supported by a LensMaster gimbal head. Any feedback on any of these models would be very helpful.
I have the ct-3372. I use a canon 7d mkii with grip, Nest gimbal and the canon 100-400 L mkii on it 990/0 of the time. I'm 69 and weigh about 120 lbs and carry this fully mounted over my shoulder for up to four miles at a time. It's in and out of the car daily, take it through the brush and set it up in the wet marsh. LOVE IT!!!!i had a lighter tripod with a center column before. Huge mistake. I was lucky to get this on sale through B&H. The only thing I would change is the number of leg sections to four instead of the three. It would b handy to be able to go a little lower. But it's not a big problem. It's very stable.
Thanks for the reply. I'm leaning towards the Feisol, but can't decide between the 3 or 4 section

Fewer sections mean faster setup and, usually, greater stability.

I chose the three because I was still reacting to my last unstable tripod. I figured fewer sections = more stable. However, I like to sit on my little swivel tri leg seat as low as I can to the water for birds and to do that now I have to splay the legs. I'm thinking that the four section would have allowed a little more leeway for that. I only travel by jeep so the folded capabilities for traveling is not a concern for me.
Thanks cmc65, that's a lot of great info. It'll certainly help in making a decision.
Thanks WayneT. Hadn't considered a Benro, but on your recommendation I'll give it a look see
I chose the CT-3372 because for my use,it's quicker to set up than the four section. Very sturdy and I use their leveling column. Breezes, etc, have no effect and my Wimberly gimbal with a 200-500 is quite steady. It will be my last one for a while! My Manfrotto 190CXPRO3 is not designed for heavier set-ups and I only use it for longer hikes.

Jerry. The two are not the same. One has three sections and one has four.
Those are my thoughts too, Dave. But want to consider all angles. Thanks for your input.
I use an Induro stealth 3 section very sturdy
I recently purchased the Induro CLT403...and have a Sirui K40X ballhead on it. I know it's way over kill for my D7100 and 200-500 combo...but I was determined to eliminate the tripod as the weak link in my setup. Haven't done a real photo shoot yet...but initial tests using live view at 500mm and tapping on legs etc. look real promising...much better than my old Manfrotto 3021BPRO. Doing a camping trip with the photo club this weekend...will see how it does in real life shooting.

I have the 3472 and did not see any stability disadvantage compared to the 3372. I use mine with a 600mm F4. I can pack the 3472 easier than the 3372. I have no experience with the Induro models you are looking at, but I do find them to be a bit heavier. Induro's build quality is very goos.
