Okay, so your conservative mind puts 50% of america in the poor category, and you want them to work out of it. I agree, but tell me where the jobs are for them. The republican view is to make the rich , richer, and to prevent higher education for the poor, and even middle class, by doubling interest rates on student loans, and making applying for and receiving them almost impossible . The banks only approved 24% of business loans under $5 million the past 3 years, so tell me how you would do it.[/quote]

Lancer,
Apparently you don't know how to read or misinterpret what is written. The figure is for those that do not pay taxes, reread it. Now of them some of them work and the rest do not. Well I don't know if it is a Republican idea or not but those who bust their ass should make money. Just what the hell is the figure that determines the term RICH? I laugh at this higher education bullshit, maybe if they learned to work and not have a position they would make money. I know far too many college grads with no jobs. Also why should illiterates be able to go to college? Have you seen some of the poorly educated college freshman that show up and need remedial education? Tell you how I would do it, what the hell is the problem with you, your man Obama, is at fault, remember he spent all that money to bail them out. Oh are you one of those poorly educated college freshman?

I ask you, WHAT CLASS WARFARE??? The claim that there is "class warfare" in is a bunch of garbage. Differences of opinion do not constitute "warfare." It's just another catch phrase manufactured by the right wing that is intended to stifle honest debate about the increasing income inequality in this country. If "class warfare" were going on, it would be the result of policies causing the rich to get ever richer at the expense of the middle class and poor. And exactly who created those policies? It wasn't Obama.

Kalsag,
Do you know what percentage the top 2 % pay of the taxes collected in this country? What is the percentage of people that pay no taxes, those working and then those not working. Please listen to him speak and he constantly utilizes the phrase the rich and their fair share. Just how much should those who work pay to allow others to sit on their collective asses. Whatever happened to his statement "If I don't turn this economy around I deserve to be a one term president.", remember that one. Please his is a divider not a unifier.

Totally disagree. Obama spent the first couple years of his presidency naively thinking that Republicans would work with him for the good of the country. Where did it get him? They rebuffed him at every turn; their only interest has been to get him unelected. Has the Republican House of Representatives voted in favor of Obama's economic recovery plan? No, and then they blame him because the recovery is too slow. They could care less about the good of the country. And again, where is this class warfare that the right wing keeps talking about? How come when somebody says "raise the taxes on the wealthy," it's considered class warfare, but when someone says "reduce the taxes on the wealthy," it's not? Republicans are great at coming up with catch slogans, like "death squads," "repeal Obamacare," "9-9-9," "class warfare," etc. These slogans make great sound bites on TV but do nothing to solve the nation's problems.

That's why several current polls show a majority of Americans think the GOP is sabotaging the economy by sitting on their butts and bitching. Nothing pisses off the country more than that... It can't be blamed on a Democratic Senate either, they have the stupidity of minority rule.

Wlgoode,
Care to explain the first two years then. Please the polls you are looking at are they on DEM sites? I can't wait till Nov I am so looking forward to Obama being a one term president. Obama, comes across as arrogant, self centered and appears to not care who he inconveniences. Hell I wish he would stay the hell out of NYC, everytime he comes here he causes huge traffic jams, all because his staff schedules things for rush hour. The Holland Tunnel was closed for 3 hours from 3 to 6 the heart of rush hour, really considerate of them and him.

The discourse here is all very interesting, but as most of the population knows, the Obama administration has proven to be a failure and is heading for the dustbin of history. We don't know for sure if BO actually ever believed the grand promises he made to get elected but once he made those promises he utterly abandoned them, so why would anyone believe him the second time around. You know the truism...Fool me once shame on you etc. He had two full years of unfettered control of all parts of the government and he squandered them playing golf and pushing the ridiculous Obamacare agenda. We gave him the opportunity to prove himself but sadly he blew it. On to the next President and hope and pray for the best to happen.

There is no minority rule in the senate. Harry Reid dictates what bills get to the floor and which die waiting. He wouldn't even support the budget BO gave him nor did they come up with one themselves which is why there hasn't been one in 4 years.

He hasn't been able to implement an economic agenda because the Republicans in the House of Representatives won't let him. They are more interested in seeing him fail than the economic well-being of the country.

You're right, do not pass go. Send all money to Robber-Barons post haste and wait for things to get better.

George,
Scary as it is, many of them believe they are right. They also believe that since they know what is good for us and we are too stupid to see their "truth," that they (in their infinite wisdom) should be in positions of power, so that they can force everyone to do things their way. Oh, we would still have elections, under the guidance of their benevolent dictatorship, but you remember how those worked in the old USSR?

Interesting how the United States became so strong and prosperous because we were "different." These people want us to become like Europe. Our Founding Fathers came here to get away from those fools in Europe. I wonder how many of these folks have ever read a "real" U.S. History book. They are getting hard to find, since these people control our public education system with their union. My Mother was a school teacher and used to lock horns with those union people a lot.

Thomas,
My hat is off to every teacher out there. They can only teach an approved curriculum not what they know is true. Far too many children today have no clue about History, none about Geography, Math is poor and English writing and comprehension is almost non existent. I have a young boy in one of the apartments in my home, his education is terrible, I am constantly helping this young man with his homework. I am only hoping that we get a competent leader in Romney, I surely don't think Obama is competent.

George,
Unfortunately, I have found myself voting for the "lesser of two evils" lately. Maybe someday someone will run that I can really get excited about. I certainly agree that Obama needs to go.

Ever notice how, when they run out of arguments, the "others" always resort to making fun of the intelligence of the people on the other side of the issue. That was a tactic my Liberal professors used to use on students who dared to question them.

Unfortunately most of the schools are liberally run and push the teachers to teach to their agenda.
