I didn't mean to insinuate anything or offend anyone. I live on the Gulf Coast, of the U.S. on the water, and I fish and release. But it depends on the fish specie, availability and if I am fishing specifically for something to eat. I know what is in my area and what there are a lot of and that is what I fish for when I am hungry. My point is, I wouldn't post a picture of a shark without his fin. I would, on the other hand, have no objection of a picture of a filleted shark with the fin on the side. Shark "finning" is illegal. BTW, I eat fish once a week.

I didn't mean to insinuate anything or offend anyo... (show quote)

From my standpoint no worries Lowrider,
Most of us practicing C&R also take a fish or two for dinner. It also happens to me once in a while that I hook the fish wrong and can't survive. What I do try my best is to release prize fishes, and keep normal size.
I understand that in many countries fish is also substantial, and C&R and all the fancy equipment I use for unhooking a fish is unheard of. I cannot argue with their way of life, but I do hope that the rest also will raise more attention into this beautiful and relaxing sport and does a best effort for maintaining fine specimens. I also eat fish pretty often, but it seems I find my way to the store more often than my effort for dinner.

And when it comes to photography and fishing, the photo should be a compliment to the fish.
