Where Old Shoes go to spend their last days.... Oh, and a highway cut.
I do know that in the High Desert of Oregon (Juniper and Sage), as you travel along, you will quite often find an old Shoe Tree.
The second pic is evidence of the rocks that form much of the underground in the Oregon Desert. It is a highway cut, leading a road down to the River near Bowman Dam, out of Prineville Oregon.
It may only be a myth, because Shirley I would have found it by now. There is reputed to be a lone BRA tree located somewhere in the Oregon High Desert. I hear they sell maps to it, but I have not met the map vendor.
I have added your rock cut to my texture file. I like the slight cross lighting.

there is a thong "flip flop" tree around here somewhere.
I have heard of shoe trees before, but that's not what they were.
Love the texture and color of the rock.
I always enjoy something new! Love the last one!

I should'a been a geologist. I am always fascinated by rock formations. I like what happens when they blast highways cuts for new roads. Thanks for the comment.
Nice shots, and interesting! Here's what a friend of mine does with his old shoes.

We have a bra fence down in central Otago area. Has been wrecked a time it two but it is still going as far as I know. Story goes that the farmer found a bra lying on the road and hung it on his fence. Then it took off, so to speak.

There are many photos of the bra fence on the internet.

A quick internet search shows that bra trees are not rare.
