A Visit to The Fire Department

My office is having an offsite meeting for a couple of days. One of our staff is past-president of the local fire department, which just built a new station where the old one stood. They have conference facilities that can be rented, and here we are. We got a tour of the station this morning, and here are a few of the snaps.

I enjoyed your shots of the department but I especially like the little bandit on top of the rack in #3. He is definitely relaxed, paying no attention to your group. Thanks for the post.

#3 is wonderful! Did you place the paddle and ball on the table for the shot? Either way, a really interesting composition full of information and details. I also love the view down (or up?) the pole. Fascinating, abstract-like.

Hi Linda, thank you. No, I had no time to set up any of the shots. Our group was being led through the station and being given a short description of equipment, procedures, history, etc. I was pretty much using the shooter's "spray and pray" method. I had to go through a number of shots and just straighten the focal plane!

That is a beautiful set. Every image stands on its own, but together ... WOW

Day Two. Some external shots. Sorry, I'm awful with Photoshop and "object removal" tools, so I've left the junk in for the time being.

Nice looking Fire Station. I bet they are very proud of it.
