Just asking out of curiosity. No specific questions. As the Swede I am, I'm a bit amazed that they are still around comcidering the price. A camera this good, and this expensive, should have a pretty limited market.

The story goes that the Hasselads where used at the moon landings in the late 1960's. And that one camera was dropped in space ending up as a "sattelite" for many decades before it entered the atmosphere and burned up.

It would be interesting, though, to hear how it is compared to other, more common, brands.

Swede no more. Hassy was sold to a Chinese dronemaker:

I used a Hasselblad XPan, a mostly unknown 35mm 34x72mm camera with inter changeable lenses. One of the few Hasselblad's that sells now for almost twice as much as it was new. A very unique camera.

I used on for several years. The camera was superbly made and a dream to operate but the 24x65 mm format was very difficult. There were few lenses available and they were expensive. In the end I felt I would be better off just cropping a 6x7 image. I traded it for a Leica M6.

Prices of lenses are horrendous so I am using a Bronica S2a. Also several Rolleis.

I have used my(new to me) Mamiya RZ67 a little. Find out drum scanning is the best way to go vs flatbed. For you that send out your E-6 120 film to a lab, is there one that has a drum scanner?
Thank you, Jay

I have never used one. However, I was recently in a Verizon Wireless store, and they had a poster for a new phone (don't remember if it was Apple or Samsung) that had a camera attachment with a Hasselblad logo on it. I don't know if this is really made by Hasselblad, name licencing, or ???.

Has any one seen this yet. If so, what is your reaction?

I have one.
Needed a new phone and Verizon offered me a deal I couldn't refuse for the phone and camera. Fun camera. Licensed and made to Hasselblad specs. by SOMEONE. Its a real dedicated camera that only uses the phone's battery and LCD. Shoots Jpeg and/or RAW. Auto or manual white balance and color or B&W.

Great cameras.
Owned a 503CW and H1 with Leaf 75 back.
Traded all in for a Mamyia 6 (rangefinder). Picture quality as good or better and a fraction of the weight and price.

I used to own one, a VERY old and "Well Used" one back in the mid 90's. It was a 500cm and I had an 80 mm lens, and a wider lens. I don't remember what that one was. I was doing weddings and they were outstanding pieces of equipment. I bought the camera and 80 mm lens from a gentleman, who had advertised in the morning paper. It also had a film back, also a beater. Bought other pieces of equipment at various "camera shows" that used to be held in the Maryland, D.C. and Virginia area. All of my equipment was well used, but they produced some great exposures. We would give the bride and groom 100 5 x 5 proofs of the wedding, and an 11 x 14 print of them. Normally kissing at the alter, or at the reception. Blads are the BEST!!!

Confirm your opinion Mamiya 6.
Exquisite camera.
When I think of mine loaded with Neopan 400, I could almost weep . . .

I used a Hasselblad for many years with 4 backs for weddings and such. But I found that the lens on my cheap Rollicord was sharper than the 80mm lens on my Hasselblad.

Still own two 'blads and 4 lenses that I used to bring home the bacon for several decades. Yes, they are more expensive than many other cameras, but htere's a reason. The lenses are just as amazing as the ones Zeiss makes for smaller cameras today. The only problem with a used one could be the lenses. I it has sat alone and forelorn for some time, the ehutter may need an overhaul. For earlier lenses, getting a replacement mainspring could be problematic.

And I also own my Xpan, camera and lenses made by Fuji. Am just waiting for a bit of spring to load it up and take it out.

Oh, and a drum scanner is a hasselblad and a flatbed is an instamatic.

I also have a shelf sitter with a partially exposed roll of 120. It was misplaced for 25+ years and found during a recent move.
It still feels solid but I haven't tried to do anything with it. Maybe some day.

I have a hasselblad 500 and 501. 80 f2.8 and 150 f4, bellows and extension tubes. I remember it cost about $1.50 for film and lab costs every time I clicked the shutter.
I now have the Canon 1dsmk3, 1dmk3, 1dmk4. A couple of L series lenses and a couple that aren't the L series.
In my opinion you just can't beat the quality of the Hasselblad lenses, I bought a photodiox adaptor so I can use them on my digital cameras. I am getting ready to buy a couple more of the lenses.
The one feature that I like about the digital cameras is the auto focus.

If I had a digital back for my Hasselblad cameras I would use them for everything except sports.

Is there anyone here using, or have used, Hasselblad's cameras?

0I have a 2000 FC/M which I bought used and still use. The 110mm F2.9 lens is fantastic as is the 50mm F2.8

Yes. I use the H5D-50. It produces beautiful images with little noise. The downside is that it is large and the lenses are very heavy.

I am awaiting my new Hasselblad X1D with two lenses. I have play with it, and while the firmware is undergoing continuous updates the images are beautiful, the LCD screen is stunning and it weighs only slightly more than the Sony A7R-II. Lenses are limited, but a number have been announced.

I will keep my 300mm HCD lens and use that with an adapter that is available.

HTH

Not quite true. It is my understanding, from a very reliable source, that DJI has taken a sizeable investment in Hasselblad but has not bought the company.

My info source is convinced that DJI wants to integrate the new X1D series of 50 MPx cameras into a new series of drones for aerial photography. If so, we won't be needing to hire helicopters any more for aerial photography. We will just have to obtain permission to fly over interesting areas; something a responsible person should be able to do.
