I would like to publish a photography book. But all the web sits are really geared for one copy sales. I would like to find someone where I can get about 100 copies for a reasonable price. Any ideas. Thanks

If you mean a book with mainly text, the price can be reasonable ($5.00 range) from a book printer. When you get into photos and color photos, the price shoots way up. That's why Adorama and Blurb charge what they do.

Serif Page plus is great desktop publishing software fairly easy to combine text and pictures. store in PDF format and take it to your local office supply, they'll print 1 or however many you want. Usually many choices of bindings. I've published several catalogs for clients, worked well for both the client and me.

Where do you get it printed, and what kind of binding do they use?

You might check out Lulu.com. Lots of information about self-publishing on their website.

Lulu.com has electronic publishing. You pay per book. I have a few books published with them. Even got royalties

I printed title page, introduction, index and the cover images but we went to Staples office supply because they were the ones near us. We intended to have them print the pages as well but had trouble with color accuracy. so we just had them bind and provide the cover. many kinds of binding were available as well as covers. since these were catalogs I designed a soft cover which they printed and attached.

Here is one site that can get you started. Also, you might consider making an e-book (almost nothing to produce, charge a small fee, no shipping costs, etc.).

Most of the online places will publish books in quantity with discounts, but I am thinking you want to price that you would get for a regular published book over the counter before markup (wholesale). Those books are printed by the thousands to get that kind of pricing. Then you have to have the marketing and distribution of them on top. Good luck with this.

If you do find someone that can do it for a great price(and acceptable quality), do let the rest of us know. Most of the, high quality/lower cost, publishing is done overseas. You might search there.
