Your last post appears to be a Fletcher class destroyer. I spent parts of '58 & '59 on the USS John Hood DD-655. Google her and you will see a very similar photo. When plane guarding for carriers we had a saying that when the carrier passed the word to "secure the pool tables" we were passing the word to abandon ship. Ahhhhh the good old days
