Will pay top dollar for this lens in like-new condition.
Many thanks par4fore and kuzano, for your helpful and interesting comments. I talked with Stephen Gandy this morning and learned that the lens I want is discontinued, and that Camera Quest has sold out their stock. So, my chances of getting one aren't great. Not right now, anyway.
I have the 40/2.0 Ultron which I use on a D5300. Wonderful lens--and on that body makes a walk-around camera that is less conspicuous than my old Leica M2 with a 35mm Sumicron. But I long for a wider FOV than the resultant 60mm. The 28mm Skopar at 42mm FOV would have been perfect. I'm considering the Sigma 30/1.4 Art.
Thanks again
Bob
The 30 1.4 might be a good one. To me, 40mm-45mm focal length is the perfect compromise to the long time standard lens of 50mm and 35mm, Some great cameras were made with the 40mm (Leica CLE) and 42mm (Olympus 35 SP) lens. I love that 40/2.0 Ultron on my full frame body.
