I will be traveling to S Korea in a couple months and wanted to ask the readership if anyone has been there and some great places to take pictures. I will stear clear of the DMZ and will be mostly down a the southern coastline near Buson.
Also, would there be any better prices on gear down there? I am slowly building up my tools as I grow in this hobby and will wait to purchase anything substantial if the opportunity exsists to save some dinero.
Thanks in advance!
I went to Korea many times while in the Navy. I'm sure it has changed a lot since then but I remember being able to get textile goods for a really good price. It was a place of many smells, I remember that as well. Some great, some down right worst smells of my life. I'll be waiting in anticipation of any photos you post. Have a great, safe time. Cheers.
If you want to see 1950 again Taejon-Waegam Pusan area . I was there
Hi GHW3: You picked right time for the S Korean trip. The spring is mild & sunny in weather and flowers are blooming all over. Either by land or ship, the entire Southern coast line has many scenic & historic spots including Chung Mu city, Guh Je Do,Han Ryo Su Do and Jun Ju city in Jun La province etc. If you like Korean foods you are in heaven esp in Jun La province. Depending on your schedule the ancient capital city Kyung Ju is a must to visit from Pusan. Two other places you might consider are Seoul, the capital & Je Ju Island. I found photo gears are cheaper at Adorama & B& H than Korea or Japan. I hope the infos are helpful & have a great time in S Korea. Shang

Lived there 5 years, try jeju island and just about any where you want,,,fish market in Busan is interesting..lots of temples
I visited many times. Street photography in Seoul is great....Look in the back alleys of Itaewon. You can see how the inexpensive clothes are really made.
Make Sure You Visit The U.N. Cemetery In Pusan. Less Than A Dozen GI's Buried There But It Is Beautifully Landscaped And Maintained. It Is An Ultra Modern Country Today Compared To 1950 As Referred In A Previous Post.
The best lace to visit in S Korea is anywhere in the Philippines.
