Suntouched: I was just about to say to look for used ones to get the price down. Try the stores that take trade ins like B&H, Adorama etc. (I'm sure others here could give suggestions better than I?). BTW, the last place I would look is eBay - don't trust it.

Drool over the images posted (first few topics) and read more about it than you want to know. Yes, I highly recommend th Q. Yes, you're right - the 28m lens makes a great travel and people lens. The IQ is so good that quite a bit of cropping is acceptable too.

The Leica Q is my favorite camera. Yesterday I carried it through the High Museum of Art in Atlanta. Its wide view allowed me to frequently capture each painting and the nearby text on the wall in one click focused on the picture frame. No problems with auto focus. Then separate the parts in Adobe Bridge. With biologist spouse I take wildflower pix, frequently using the macro setting on the Q. It does about everything I need. For changeable lenses I have a Leica M. My favorite cameras have been Leica R7, Digilux2, M9. I have no experience with current favorite cameras by other makers, no argument with various reviews or with prices.

I still come back to the "bang for the buck" issue with cost. The Leica is $4200, the Sony is $3898. For a similar price, you could get a Sony A7RII or a Fuji X-Pro2 and have the added flexibility to change lenses.

The Leica Q has been my favorite camera and travel companion since October 2015. I do mostly wildflower work. I am 80 years old, learned on film cameras, and found Leica digitals easy for me to understand and use, starting with the Digilux2, then M9 and M-240. I work fast with the Q, with its auto focus and quick selection of scenic view or MACRO, which really gets close to the details. Reviewers can provide you with more details and comparisons with lower priced competitors which I have never used.
