Thanks! After watching that a dozen times, I'll make a decision and start shopping - for yet another tripod.
I have those Manfrotto mounts on all my cameras and tripods. The price is right, and they work very well.

I have an old Manfrotto 3021 and a Gitzo, both aluminum and both heavy. Excellent tripods but traveling with them is becoming more and more difficult for me.
I also have a cheap Dolica tripod and it has become my companion while traveling because it is light, small in size and can be transported without effort.
For years I have used a Linhoff ballhead.
