I used to climb mountains & I know climbers that do things like this on a regular basis. They do not seemingly have 1 ounce of fear about heights. I am not one of them! I know this is perfectly possible for many climbers to casually sit like this feet dangling over empty space. I have eaten my lunch while sitting on a 10 inch ledge, feet hanging over 2,000 feet of space but I was roped in with multiple pitons (not kosher any more) & chocks or wedges holding me safely from a slip. LOL...but I also was a tourist on top of Half Dome in Yosemite that had to crawl on my hands & knees to the edge, then lie flat on my belly to look over the edge! Two young lady schoolteachers walked right up on each side of me eating their sandwiches & casually held a conversation while looking over! I was too embarrassed to crawl back until they left & had to lay there for another 10-15 minutes! Felt like hours!

I suppose this could be photoshopped but I choose to really like it & take it for real....looks like dirt & wear on the part she is sitting on from other daredevils too. Anyway, thanks! Makes me remember things from my past! Take care, Walt

Same here. Used to do that when I was climbing (Three Fingered Jack comes to mind), and generally with a rope attached but you couldn't get me to do it now.

Just looking at the shot gives a sense of fear of falling. A death wish??

Why isn't she tether to a life line? Could this be a Photoshopped image, such would be very doable.

The picture must be photoshopped or she must be on anti-anxiety medication.

I may be wrong but I think it's a composite. I see a slight outline around the rock, either that or it was over processed. In any event it's a dramatic image and I like it.

I feel sick. I am hoping there is some kind of trick photography here, like super imposed or something.

When people who do stuff like this get killed or injured all their friends go on about how unexpected and tragic it is.
Nope, you do stupid things sooner or later bad things happen.
Phoney or not, some idiot will see it and try to do it themselves.

I would. But, I'd want complete control over how it was done.

It's bad enough she is sitting on the edge of the rock. She has her hands in her pocket. So really not chance of grabbing on to anything if she slips

Same for me... I'm a private pilot that is afraid of heights! I guess the climb-out has my full attention and is rapid enough for me to get through the first few hundred feet of altitude. After that, no problem! On the other hand, ladders, rooftops, skyscrapers, etc. all present the fear-factor. Is that odd, or what?😳

I go to the Grand Canyon frequently and see this sort of thing with young people showing off. I was told by one of the guides at the Canyon that they pick up around 20 to 30 bodies a year on the bottom of the Canyon floor. Not worth the risk.
