I have a Nikon D-60 and all pictures taken except in auto mode are black and white. Can anyone help?

have you checked your menu? possibly it's set for black and white? I'm not acquainted with that camera but I know some of them you can set it for that.

Simply go to your menu and reset your camera and if that don't work, it may be a program error and you'll need to send it in for repairs.

As a Canon camera and Chevy truck user Ii am not well qualified to deal with you guys that misguidedly like Nikons and Fords but here goes.
On your D60 go to the lcd display and find the Optimize Image menu. I am thinking that you might have inadvertantly set the pre-set menu to 'black and white' or perhaps it says 'monochrome'. Then just scroll up the screen to one of the color settings and set it at that. And yes, as the other say, 'it will tell you in the owners manual."
Have fun.

you may be misguided about equipment but thanks, I found the problem.
Menu-Optimize Image- Black and white was selected. I thought I had selected Normal. Thanks again

I don't like to sound rude but everyone has their own choice of equipment. To be honest the only thing majorly different about the Canon and Nikon are the basic names. I to, prefer Nikon over Canon but I use both. Canon T3i and Nikon D90 and just to add I always keep a FujiFilm Finepix S1800 in my car, it's a point and shoot. I have found that the Nikon is better for shots that Canon isn't and Canon is better for shots that Nikon isn't.

You should have some respect and not down the Nikon users as well as other users.

He is just kidding and it was said in the spirit of friendly competion not mean spirited. Besides as a raving Nikonian I know there are only 2 types of photographers in this world Nikon owners and those who wish they were nikon owners. Oh and no matter what else you can say about ford at least they never took goverment bailout money. In the battle of ford vs chevy I choose CADILAC. :!:

I love the D-3, I'm currently in the process of saving up for it! I got to test it for a few hours a couple day's ago and instantly it became my next big thing!

I have a tip for you that I learned a long time ago, A camera reset and check your settings after a shooting session will aid in Getting That Great Shot. Remember every one is an expert and their way is the only way to take a picture. Listen to all and try new techniques and use the one you like, and most of all have fun. By the way I also shoot Nikon.

I am a Nikon fan and a Chevy truck owner, but I must say I do have a dark side ( I own two Canons, an A1 and a AE1)LOL. We got to keep the Ford vs Chevy Nikon vs Canon rivalries going, lots of fun. The best camera is the one you are using.

Hey the ae-1 and the a=1 were great cameras along side nikon fe and fe2 and olympus om-1 oand om-2. they are among the few film cameras that still have some value as collectors items and can cause a bidding war to erupt on ebay. Even chevy fans have to admit that the Mustang is the greaterst ford ever and the greatest car chase scene in movie history is Bullet with steve Mcqueen mustang vs the dodge charger.
