I purchased a Bamboo on EBay for less than $50. It works well with my Windows 10 pc and PSE14 so I'm very happy with it. The hand to eye coordination takes time to develop after using a mouse for years but other than that it's been a great purchase.

OK - Intuos comes in several varieties, draw, art, photo, comic, and 3d with varying sensitivities, resolutions, and sizes. I'm still unable to choose between all those choices.

The difference between these is the software that it comes with, that and the "draw" version is pen only, no touch. I have the draw and doubt I would use the touch feature. It generally is about $20 less than the others. Small is more than big enough, I, like the other posters only use about a quarter of the screen.

I use the intous pro medium because it has 8 programmable buttons and the radial dial which is handy to change zoom, brush size and hardness without going to the keyboard. I had a small pen and touch to start it had 4 programmable buttons and no radial... I liked the size better as it didn't require arm movement (just wrist) to reach each area of the screen.. So it was faster and easier to edit... If I were buying now I'd get the small intous pro it has 6 programmable buttons and the radial.. Once you get used to the mapping of the tablet to your screen (it will drive you crazy for the first few days but stick with it).. you will never go back...

Same dilemma. I brought a Cintiq because I could use a pen right on the image. Absolutely love it. No regrets. The sticker shock wore off as soon as I began using it.

...bought the hundred buck Wacom, tried it for awhile but there it sits dust-catching...maybe I should spend some real money are you saying?

I have a Wacom Intuos Pro small tablet and it has worked great for me. I do lots of retouching and I also love to draw. I use Photoshop and Autodesk Sketchbook Pro and it works beautifully. Wacom has lots of choices; the small works for me. But if money wasn't an issue, I'd go for a Cintiq. It all boils down on what type of work you do and your budget.

Well - decision made. Bought a used Wacom Intuos Pen and Touch Small USB Tablet CTH480 in Good Condition on eBay for $45.
