Mine was a Sony Mavica. Damn, that was a long time ago!
I remember ghat one. I was on acyive duty when they came out and my unit had one. :-)
My first digital was a Kodak DC290 that I paid $649.00 for. It was a 2.1 mp POS but it captured images that otherwise would not have happened and it watched the many happy times with our biological children so who am I to complain.
Ironically, I still have it even though it has some kind of a firmware issue - it has memories attached to it...
Minolta Z1. Nice and simple. My wife still uses it.
Kodak don't remember which one. Went digital(which I said I would no do when the film processing lab lost all my pictures from my son's graduation, then told me at least they replaced the film. I won't twll you what I said but I give you 3 guesses, and the first two don' count.
Ok being a Sunday and always try to convert something serious into something funny...the first digital camera I bought was a classic Nikon F with a Photomic T Finder. Your comment might be, if you go back that far, it was not a digital camera. But I can then argue, I held it in my hand and used my digits to make adjustments.
How about a Dycam Model 3, cir 1994! Used it extensively with a handheld computer, the Texas Microsystems "Grunt" for the Army and later "Hardbody" for the commercial market. Photo taken today. Brings back memories!!!
My first digital camera was a Canon G-3 in 2002. It replaced an A1. Looking back the images were actually not bad. (These are RAW Photoshopped to JPG.) This was image #33 and #82... and I was just self-teaching myself how to use Photoshop.
2011, I got my first and only DSLR: Canon t2i. I still use it...a lot! And, get just as good a shots as a lot of others I see who have much newer and pricier cameras. I believe one's money needs to be spent on lens, not so much the camera type....although the bigger more expensive cameras are impressive! More bells and whistles for sure!
I also use my I Phone 6 Plus often...
My first digital camera was a point and shoot, as was my second. Both were gifts. Very disappointed in that they ate batteries horribly fast. Pictures were ok and I liked being able to review them and printed a few. I then purchased a Nikon D3100 after rejecting the idea of an underwater camera after medical issues negated scuba diving. Purchased it at Best Buy. They had a special, body and two kit lenses. Really didn't know what I was buying. Upgraded to D5300 a few years later. Bought D5300 for Dummies and ps elements 12 for dummies. Both have been great for giving me greater understanding. But Hogs has given me the best understanding of terminology, photo taking and theories. I just need to go out and shoot more. A new member, less than a year. Have really enjoyed the format. Thanks

Loc: St. Louis burbs, but originally Chicago burbs
My first was a Sony a330 that came in a bundle with lens(es), a cheap tripod and a couple other things. I got it on Black Friday 2009 at a big box store that went out of business a few years later - Circuit City??. I still have (and occasionally use) a Canon AE-1 Program film camera.

Sony Mavica 3 1/4" disks and 6 pics per disk, Then on to a Kodak DX7590 with 5 mgpix and an SD card, boy was I up town. Still have it by the way.
After my "Sony Mavica MVC-FD92" with the 3.5 in floppy discs, I went on to a "Sony Cyber-shot DSC P73" with 4.1 megapixels for my second digital camera. I got lucky and the same Smart cards that I bought for the Mavica wored in the Cyber-shot too. This is my second camera:
Olympus E500 only 8MP but did a fantastic job. Used it professionally for two years. then up-graded.

I also bought the original Canon Rebel and loved it at the time. It was a great introduction to digital. I didn't realize then how profound that purchase was since I have been a dedicated Canon shooter ever since. I thought about switching over to another brand a few times but I'm so comfortable with the Canon controls and invested in lenses that it didn't make sense to do so. (I'm sure that's exactly what Canon wants to hear!) Just bought a new 80D over the holidays from B&H and love it!
I am a former Canon film user, stayed with them, 60D and 5D Mark III all my lenses fit the 60D, not so with the 5D Mark III so I did have to invest in some new lenses

I still make most pics with an iPhone, you know that one "The best camera is the one you have with!"
