Don't miss the Oxbow Bend. Mount Moran, on river early morning best but anytime is great.

Another thought is to go down Henry's Fork of the Snake River .... with a river guide .... this is a float down the river ... very scenic ... get a fishing license .... you may catch some nice German Brown and Rainbow Trout. This is about a 45 minute drive NE of Rexburg, Idaho ... SW of Yellowstone.

I second the idea of taking a float trip on the Snake river. I did it in 2009 and it was great! A couple of photos:

It was one of the guys who were part of John Jacob Astor's Astorians who were establishing an overland route to the Pacific who named the Tetons .... that group didn't discover them ... but it was one of them who named them.

In Farsi, I think they'd be called "Pistum bozorg".

There are things to see everywhere. There are calm river float trips, hikes to see wildlife, hikes up into the mountains by cold streams and rock climbers you can watch. I remember there is a small mountain in the valley with a road you can drive up to the top on. We did that as a family and sat and watched eagles flying at our level, elk emerge from the woods down below, etc. The Snake River is there...nature abounds. The Tetons are my favorite park and place.

If you are going to be there on August 21 this year, there will be a total eclipse of the sun you can photograph.

If you have the time and want a beautiful drive, I suggest the four hour drive (one way) to Logan Utah via Bear Lake and Logan Canyon. Logan is a very interesting town too (home of Utah State University and Aggie Ice Cream!)...should you be there do not miss the Bluebird Cafe, in continuous operation since 1914. Jackson Hole and Yellowstone are just incomparable in terms of natural beauty and outdoor things to do.
