Has anyone had any experience with Buffalo portable hard drives? I was wondering about their reliability. In particular, I was curious about the MiniStation DDR, 1TB. Thanks for any comments.

Buffalo have a excellent record for reliability, They are slightly more expensive but it's worth the extra.

I use a Buffalo for backing up photo files. It's an older one; about 6 years old, and is reliable day after day. I even got one as a birthday gift for a good friend.

I have a one TB portable thunderbolt buffalo drive in which I've stored my travel images on since 2012. When I get home from my trips I transfer them to my main drive at home. I have left all those years of images on the buffalo drive as a back up. It has worked flawlessly but alass it's at full capacity and I'm in the market for a new version.

I have been using the Western Digital (WD) brand as I then know whose drive is inside. I prefer ONLY WD or Seagate drives. If Buffalo tells you the device uses a WD drive, I would go for it. Best of luck.

Try G-Technology G-RAID with Thunderbolt Professional Dual Drive Storage System 8TB . There are several models to choose from. Go WWWBH Photo.com

Thanks to all who replied. I purchased one on sale and have no qualms now about its likely reliability.
